Reason of Hope

Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. 1 Pet 3:15

Do others see the difference in you? There is a common response that is normally accepted in troubled situations and there are uncommon responses that cause the attention of others to take notice. What is your explanation for the difference they may see? The difference that others may see is the testimony of the salvation and hope of Jesus Christ that lives within the child of God. The scripture passage reminds us to “be ready.” The child of God who sets their hearts on the Lord God to “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts” ought to “be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of hope that is in you.” The hope that dwells in the child of God is more than PMA (positive mental attitude), is a living hope, a life-giving hope that worketh by the life-giving Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, who is the living water that flows unto eternal life. Dear friend, as you read and meditate on the word of God, the word of Christ begins to “dwell in you richly” (Col 3:16) and transform you with a renewed mind (Rom 12:2) that the Holy Spirit stirs in your remembrance. The Spirit of God is our Friend in time of trouble to comfort, in times of decision to guide and direct, in time of weakness to strengthen us with hope that “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Phil 4:13). My friend, God is working in your life circumstances and through you that you may “give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you.” As the Holy Spirit works greatly and mightily in our hearts, we become humbled by His presence “with meekness and fear” to give Him praise, thanksgiving and glorify His holy Name. Father thank You for Your love and the “reason of hope” we have through Jesus Christ. I praise You and adore You. In the blessed Name of Jesus. Amen.
