Rejoice, His Mercies Are New

This is the day which the LORD hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Ps 118:24

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say rejoice! (Phil 4:4). God’s mercies never grow old. His heart never darkens, nor turns cold. His mercies never run out, run dry, nor fade. Every morning, the mercies of our Lord are new. His mercies are perfectly sufficient for whatever challenges, disappointments, sufferings, temptations, and struggles that we may face from the sins within us and that surround us. My friend “this is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it.” No matter the road you may travel or what may come your way, you can “Rejoice in the Lord” through faith in His promised word that “my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:19). As you begin this day, take a moment to rest, reflect, and meditate on the loving kindness that He has shown you. Be reminded my friend that God promises to “never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb 13:5) and that “I am with you always” (Mt 28:20). By His mercies He strengthens you and gives you courage to abide in Him to move forward in each new day. Yesterday is behind you and today is new. So “rejoice and be glad in it.” Dear friend, sing and shout praises unto the Lord, for His mercies are new every morning. Proclaim the truths of the ole spiritual hymn and sing “Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand have provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!” Father thank You for Your love and Your new mercies every morning. I will rejoice and be glad in this day, for You are my Maker, my Creator, my Lord and my God. I will tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day (Ps 71:15). I thank You and praise You in the blessed Name of Jesus. Amen.

New Mercies Every Morning

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. Lam 3:22-23

There is something about a morning sunrise breaking through the darkness that captivates our attention. Even a momentary ray of sunlight shining through the slightest crack in a dark stormy sky is able to inspire new hope and optimism within a dreary soul. There are times when hope appears unexpectedly and out of nowhere, to change the horizon of one’s life. Like the rising sun, we have new hope available every day through the mercies of God. The scripture passage declares to us that we need not despair and distress but to have hope because “of the Lord’s mercies…because of His compassions…they are new every morning.” Each day the child of God can rise to live for a gospel of mercy, not guilt. God desires that His children start anew and fresh every day, filled with the joy of His salvation, renew by the confession and forgiveness of sin, restored to the bright hope of fellowship with their Heavenly Father, the God of peace. My friend, arise each morning and choose your direction for the day. Choose to join with the angelic voices in heaven and join with all creation to offer praise to the unfailing God, the God of all mercy, and the faithful and true God. Choose to “rejoice and be glad” (Ps 70:4). Choose to “serve the Lord” (Josh 24:15). Choose to “love the Lord with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength” (Lk 10:27). Dear friend, lift your eyes unto the Lord and step into the light of hope to receive the Lord’s new mercies and His unfailing compassions that “the God of peace shall be with you” (Phil 4:9) and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb 13:5). Then you will proclaim Him with all your heart “Great is Thy faithfulness.” Father thank You for Your love and Your faithfulness to provide new mercies every morning. I will “be glad and rejoice with all (my) heart” (Zeph 3:14). In the blessed Name of Jesus. Amen.

God Is Merciful

Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. Ps 116:5

As you awake today, God has new mercies in store that you have never known before. God’s mercy is new every morning (Lam 3:23) and He reveals His mercy to us in ways that we haven’t ever experienced before. As you begin each day what will you choose?  Choose to embrace God’s mercy and walk in His grace and goodness for today? Or continue to dwell on yesterday’s sin and struggles to walk in misery and the misleading of unsettled accounts, unfulfilled desires, and unrest from aspiring for greater gain. The scripture passage reminds us that “God is merciful.” God’s merciful compassion is infinite and inexhaustible. God demonstrated His mercifulness by sending His Son Jesus to take the judgment that was rightfully ours. He now patiently and lovingly waits as the gospel goes out to all people to turn to Jesus for salvation and to live under His justification (2 Pet 3:9). Each day, as He directs the paths of His children to “increase and abound in love” (1 Thes 3:11-12) that His love and the Good News the gospel may reach to the uttermost parts of the world. Every day, God awaits to hear the prayers of His children to fill our hearts with His peace and rest that “God is able to make all grace abound toward you” that we may walk in His presence to “abound in every good work.” My friend, God has plans for your good and His glory. “God is merciful” and is able cause all things to “work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom 8:28). Though we may falter and fail, we can rejoice and be glad that His new mercies await us for today. Our Lord is patiently waiting and is merciful. Dear friend, awake and start fresh. Start fresh in the new mercy that God has available to us today. He has given us a clean slate. What will you do with it? Father thank You for Your love and Your merciful kindness. Help me to start fresh and anew that Your will be done in my life and that Your love will abound to others. In the blessed Name of Jesus. Amen.

His Merciful Kindness

For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord! Ps 117:2

I pray that you had a blessed day of worship of the Lord’s Day and that your faith was encouraged and strengthened in the word of God. I pray the that you begin this day and continue through this week giving praise to the Lord “for His merciful kindness is great toward us.” Psalms 117 is the shortest chapter of all scriptures and the center chapter in the Bible. All the Bible hinges of these words. At the core of the word of God is that He is merciful, and His truth endures forever. We can rejoice in that “His merciful kindness is great toward us.” His mercy is great to all mankind in that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23) yet He loved us so the He sent His only begotten Son to die for the world that none should perish but have everlasting life (Jn 3:16). His merciful kindness is great “in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8). God withheld the death that we deserved and “in due time Christ died for the ungodly” (Rom 5:6). His mercies are great and mighty to forgive our greatest sins (Amos 5:12). Our fall and failure to sin robs us of the eternal glory of God. Within ourselves, we have no strength nor ability to keep ourselves from sin nor save ourselves out of sin. God in His merciful kindness sent His Son to die for us that we might fulfill His created purpose for us to have life and life everlasting to know Him and His Son, Jesus Christ (Jn 17:3). This is the hope of all the saints of Christ and the promise of God “who cannot lie” (Tit 1:2) for “the truth of the Lord endureth forever.” The eternal hope of the children of God rests upon “His merciful kindness…the truth of the Lord.” My friend, even now He calls unto His children who may have sinned and hide in shame, to know that He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 Jn 1:9). What a marvelous and awesome He is. Father thank You for Your love and Your mercies that are new every day. I praise You for Your merciful kindness and rest in Your truth that endues forever. In the blessed Name of Jesus. Amen.
