Whom Do You Serve?
“For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve” (Acts 27:23).
The apostle Paul had a divine appointment in Rome to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. However, his trip to his divine appointment came through a storm where he was shipwrecked as a prisoner. But I love the opportunity Paul took during this time to be a witness of the Lord Jesus. Paul declared that he belonged to God and that the “angel of God “stood by him. My friend, who do you belong to this morning? If you belong to God, you have an angel standing by you as well! Jesus said that He would ” never leave you nor forsake you”. But, Paul did not stop by stating his position in God, he stated the reason he was on that boat, “whom I serve.” The reason he was a prisoner is that he preached Jesus, the reason he was on his way to Rome because God had declared it two years earlier, that Paul would preach in Rome. If you are divinely born into the family of God you have a divine appointment to be a servant of God. You may face the storm, you may feel shipwrecked, but we must feel as Paul did, “Where for sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me” (v.25). Father in the middle of the storm, help us to trust Your Word. I pray this morning that our readers would find the confidence they need to face this day in their position in the Family of God, and through Your God breathed Word. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!
