The Source of Strength

Good morning! In the 18th Psalm, David worshiped and expressed his love for God in his own descriptive words. “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength” (Psalm 18:1). David loved God heartily, with his inmost bowels, and was not ashamed to express his love for God at any time. He once danced (worshiped God) in the streets before the children of Israel. David had such heart-felt love toward God because he knew God was the strength of his life. God is the strength that delivered David from Saul’s hands, from the arrows of Saul, from Saul’s wrath, and from the army of Saul. My friend, God’s strength works in favor of His children; if you are saved this morning, you are protected from your enemies with the strength of God. “Fear no evil” because God is with you. David said, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower” (v.2). WOW, what descriptive words to describe the God of our Salvation! God is our source of strength, which makes us unmovable to our enemies (Rock). God wards of our enemies’ blows and shields the fiery darts of satan( My buckler). And I love that God is our (High Tower), God will raise you above the attacks of your enemy and allow you to see the enemy from above. This morning my friend, I want to encourage you to walk in the confidence of God as your strength and express your deep-felt love for Him. Heavenly Father, thank you for taking care of your children, thank you for fighting our battles for us, and we thank you for bringing “vengeance” on our behalf, so we may focus upon your work on this earth. I want to encourage you to join with a local body of believers this Lord’s Day and worship the “Rock” of your Salvation. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!

Nevertheless, At Thy Word!

Good morning; I often thank God for the lessons we learn from Peter’s boldness and obedience to the Lord Jesus. “And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word, I will let down the net” “Luke 5:5). Peter was the professional fisherman, and He had fished all night and had caught nothing. And Jesus begins to teach by the lake, and when the crowds came, Jesus entered Peter’s boat and began to teach; Jesus used Peter’s boat as a pulpit. Jesus told Peter to “Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught”. The instructions from Jesus did not make sense to Peter; Peter had worked those waters, he knew the fish were not biting on that day. But Peter obeyed Jesus and stated four of the most powerful words to humanity, “nevertheless at thy word”. Are we willing to follow God’s Word even when things do not make sense to us, are we willing to follow Jesus’ Word even when we think we know better? The blessings of God only come from obedience to His Word. “And when they had this done, they inclosed a GREAT MULTITUDE OF FISHES: and their net brake.” (v.6). My friend, life becomes easier; and we reap the blessings of God as we follow the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit of God. Gracious Lord, I pray this morning that we would have the same attitude as those boys in the boat, ” Nevertheless at thy word”. Let your Word be true and every man a liar. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!

Faithful Saint

Good morning; I love the greeting in the letter the apostle Paul used to the Colosse believers. “To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (Colossians 1:2). As Paul addressed the saints (the redeemed) whom he had received the report of being faithful, he prayed for God’s grace and peace to dwell with them. “Faithful” carries the meaning of “”steadfast in affection or allegiance,” to be “full of faith” it also carries the meaning “to be true to the original”. If someone wrote about us this morning as a saint of God, those whom He has redeemed from the penalty of sin, those whom He has rewarded with an eternal home in the presence of God. Would we be addressed as the “faithful saints” to the original? As Christians, “we are to be genuine reproductions of Christ.” Paul was commending the believers for staying faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Gospel they had received. “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” (James1:8). Father, I pray this morning that we as the saints of God be found faithful, that our affection and allegiance is to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!

The Power Within You

Good morning; I love reading and meditating upon passages in the scripture that reminds me of the POWER of God that dwells within me. The Power that allows me to live a victorious life. Jesus told His disciples, “ye shall receive POWER, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 2:8). We must not allow satan to cause a POWER OUTAGE in our lives through lies and deceit. Christian friend, satan doesn’t want me to remind you, but you have power over satan; you have power over his lies and deceit. You have power over your feelings and emotions; you have the power of words, so “Call those things which be not as though they were.” Speak truth into your life; speak truth into the life of your family. “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the Word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:31). Go into your prayer closet, allow God to stir up the gift of God that is within you, and shake the very house in which you are praying. The Power of God lit up the World at the very beginning of time when God said, let there be light. And that same power that God spoke light with dwells inside of you. But too many times, we have Power Outages. My friend, turn the power of God on in your life, allow the Holy Spirit of God to do the supernatural through your earthly vessel. Father, I pray for the supernatural power of God to work through our lives on this day, that we may be that light set upon a hill, shining by the power of the Holy Spirit. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!
